"The Station"
Collingwood Museum.

The Collingwood Museum is housed in Collingwood's reconstructed train station. Northern Railway built the town's first railway station in 1855, a picturesque building with arched-entrances for trains, ticket office and waiting rooms. The first train arrived from Toronto on January 1, 1855. The train station was destroyed by fire and a new station on St. Paul Street was built in 1873, replacing the Northern Railway Station by the harbour. The St. Paul Street Station featured a tower and roofed platforms. This station was also destroyed by fire. Today's reconstructed train station was built in 1997 to the original specifications. The Station at 45 St. Paul Street is home to the Collingwood Museum. Inside are visual reminders of how important train and boat transportation was to the early days of Collingwood . You can watch a video of a side-launch of a massive Great Lakes freighter built at Collingwood Shipyards, and see an original Watt's Skiff built in the 1860's.
